We are in need of some great minds to come together to help create a handbook for the Bike for Tykes program. Eventually we want to expand the program to schools all over the state, nation, and world. So we want to come up with a structure for the program including the following:

• Requirements for students to earn the privilege to borrow a bike

• Recording system that will allow everyone a chance to borrow a bike

• Protocol for fixing a broken bike

• Protocol for child safety (local riding laws, wearing helmets, etc.)

• Protocol for bike safety (bike locks, etc.)

• Responsibilities of student

• Responsibilities of teacher

• Responsibilities of Bike Liaison

• Responsibilities of Mentors

We would like to produce this before August 2009 when we present the bikes. We will have the handbook spiral bound and will have a formal meeting with the Principal, teachers, Bike Liaison, and Bike Saviours before that time so everyone is on the same page.
